Is there a PERFECT murtabak?
Well, personally, my favourite is located 5 hrs away in Singapore. Everytime we go down, we'd make it a point to visit this shop like some pilgrimage to satisfy ourselves with the lovely crispy murtis and as if that wasn't enough, we'd tapau some...well....about a dozen to stock up our fridge at home. All the way from SIN - KUL.
Now, the co-owners decided to set up a branch in USJ, Taipan (of all places).

Malaysia's Victory shop

The ORIGINAL Victory shop in Singapore.
I'm curious to know why the MAL branch did not use the original logo. HmmMmmmmm....
But nevertheless.....

(pic taken from http://masak-masak.blogspot.com/2007/02/murtabak-restoran-victory-arab-street.html. Sorry! the pics i took didn't look as good as this!!)What matters is the food. Behold, the murtabak that is now in good reach.
The murtabak was so-so actually. We did manage to speak to the owner. The restaurant was complete. Great Singaporean cooks, setting, briyani but, the one thing that slacked were the spices used to create the murti. They used LOCAL spices. I hope it will improve in the weeks to come. It's hard to like a franchise when you already know how the original tastes like. We gave the owner a few suggestions
Then again. I think it's time for my monthly murti :). Good or not good or so-so, i am still a fan of it. Damn, the picture is already making me hungry.
